Delete your account
In the app
Settings → Delete account. Immediate, removes your sign-in and all synced data.
Without the app
Email delete@dexgrid.nl from your sign-in address. Done within 3 working days.
Nothing hidden
One anonymous technical record stays to sync your devices. No personal data.
Yomuki: Read Japanese, published by DexGrid B.V.
You can delete your Yomuki account and all data synced from it without reinstalling or opening the app. This page explains both routes.
In the app (fastest)
Settings → Delete account. The deletion happens immediately and removes:
- Your sign-in account (email/Google identity)
- All your synced learning progress (your answers and per-item history)
- Your synced settings (new items per day, audio autoplay, reminder on/off, reminder time)
- Your analytics/crash consent choice
The app then asks whether to also erase the learning data stored locally on the device you are using.
Without the app (web request)
Send an account-deletion request from the email address you signed up with to delete@dexgrid.nl with subject line “Yomuki account deletion”. Include nothing else — no password, no learning details.
We will confirm the request by replying to that same email address, then delete:
- The sign-in account in Firebase Authentication.
- All synced learning data (your answer log and settings) in the Yomuki database.
- The record linking your account to any analytics consent.
Processing is normally within 3 working days. You will receive a confirmation email when done. The request is free.
What stays after deletion
- One minimal technical record: your anonymous account ID and the deletion timestamp. It lets your other devices detect the deletion and prevents the closed account from being written to again. It contains no email address, name or learning data, and cannot be restored into an account.
- Learning data stored locally on devices that did not perform the deletion is not erased by the web route; it stays on that device, untouched, until you delete the account there or clear the app’s storage (Settings, or Android Settings → Apps → Yomuki → Clear storage).
- Google/Firebase’s own records for its services (e.g. their security/abuse logs) are subject to Google’s retention policies, which we do not control.
If you never created an account
Then no cloud data exists for you. Learning progress made without signing in lives only in the app’s local storage on your device; uninstalling the app or Android Settings → Apps → Yomuki → Clear storage removes it completely.
